Drawbridges Pick Up 5-3 Win Against Griswold
|
Mystic and Griswold duked it out and the Drawbridges came out victorious.
The Mystic Drawbridges had to overcome a big game from Griswold first baseman Ciriaco Álvarez to leave Ballpark By The Water with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-3. Álvarez was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The winning pitcher was Miguel Morales. He's now 6-17. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Drawbridges. The save went to Will Horn, number 6 for him.
The Drawbridges got a big at-bat from second baseman Erasmo Mieses. For the game, Mieses went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Mystic a 4-1 lead.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Mieses told the Mystic Observer.
The Drawbridges raised their record to 34-61.
