Waterville registered a win at The Grove by beating the Manchester Gamblers, 3-2. Pitcher Bolívar Carabajal was one reason why the Elms triumphed. Waterville reliever Álvaro Piña snagged the win, upping his record to 10-11. Danny McClellan shouldered the loss. Now 32-81, Manchester has lost 10 in a row.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, 24-year old third baseman Belasco Martínez won it for Waterville. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Martínez hit a full count sinker from Danny McClellan for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.

"Bolívar was throwing free and easy," said Waterville manager Esteban Bruno.
