Agustín Parra did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bennington Melodeons from being beaten, 10-8, to the Derry Spuds at Melodeon Grounds. Parra was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI. The win was credited to 17-year old right-handed pitcher Venancio del Valle in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Noé Félix took the loss. The win makes Derry 61-49.

The Spuds took the lead in the top of the fourth when Teucro Soberón banged a two-out triple. Derry had been trailing 2-1, but Soberón hit a 2-1 cutter from Isaac Castro for a 2-run triple.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Soberón told a Derry News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
