Guiristas Raise Rally Flag, Beat Cabo Rojo, 2-1
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Estadio de Peñuelas.
In a tight tilt between the Penuelas Guiristas and the Cabo Rojo Combatientes, Scott Peterson was the deciding factor. The Penuelas right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Peterson got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run.
Penuelas took a 2-1 lead on Bob Moulds's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Moulds hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Cabo Rojo pitcher Alberto Lozano visibly frustrated.
"Runs were at a premium," said Penuelas manager Constantino Ríos.
The Guiristas raised their record to 4-2.
