Colonels Go Down to Defeat, 3-2
|
Cincinnati beat Louisville in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Fritz Clausen pitched well, but his team, the Louisville Colonels, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Cincinnati Reds at Eclipse Park II. Ice Box Chamberlain earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 3-5.
Fred Hartman hit a run-scoring triple off Fritz Clausen in the top of the seventh, which put the Reds in front, 3-2. Hartman had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Hartman.
The victory puts Cincinnati at 16-23.
