Concord Draws Blanks Against Piña
|
In a very sharp performance at Stagecoach Park, Álvaro Piña of the Waterville Elms blanked the Concord Stagecoaches, 6-0. He permitted 5 hits and finished with 4 strikeouts and no walks in the Elms victory.
"Álvaro goes out there and just goes about his business," Elms manager Esteban Bruno said in his postgame press conference. "I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. No matter the pitch, you know he's going to be where he needs to be."
This season, Piña has worked 205.1 innings with 105 strikeouts en route to a 13-10 record and a 3.02 ERA.
