Skidding Browns Lose 7th Straight
|
The Kansas City Scouts and St. Louis Browns obliged fans looking for a good time.
Getting a good performance from right fielder Billy Hamilton, the Kansas City Scouts defeated the St. Louis Browns, 6-5. Hamilton went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 for the Scouts. The current losing streak for St. Louis has reached 7 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Hamilton hit a fastball from Jake Weimer for a run-scoring double. The Scouts, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The crowd was boisterous today," said Hamilton.
