Bell Impresses as Gatekeepers Knock Off Cordwainers, 7-2
|
The Nashua Gatekeepers defeated the Auburn Cordwainers, 7-2, in Northern New England Association action at The Gatehouse. Nashua pitcher William Bell had a standout performance. With the win, Nashua has a record of 32-37. Auburn falls to 30-39.
It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Bell, who tallied 6 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing just 5 hits. Bell, who leads the NNEA with a 0.88 WHIP, goes to 8-10 on the year with 107 strikeouts.
"William went out and did what we needed," said Nashua manager Leoncio Jiménez.
