In a low-scoring game between Derry and Nashua, Almandeto Castro was fantastic. The Spuds right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the NNEA with a 1.42 ERA, helped his team beat the Gatekeepers, 2-1, in 14 innings. With the win, Derry raised its record to 25-17.

In the bottom of the 14th, Nicolás Montez delivered the big blow for Derry, stroking a game-winning run-scoring single off Nashua pitcher Armando Cabañas.

"Almandeto had swing-and-miss stuff," said Derry manager John Fox.
