Quarrymen Run Win Streak to 6
|
The first-place Rutland Quarrymen picked up another win.
Getting an impressive start from Cleto Gómez, Rutland beat Burlington by the score of 3-1. Gómez picked up the win for Rutland, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3.
Rutland went up, 2-1, on Isidoro Trinidad's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Trinidad hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Burlington pitcher Justino Rivera feeling deflated.
"I like what I saw today," said Rutland manager Abundio Marino, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Quarrymen win now puts them at 23-7.
