The Rio Grande Cotorras moved to within one game of the Serie Eliminatoria, downing the Ciales Galanes on the road at Parque de los Galanes by a score of 6-5. Cotorras left-hander Calixto Bernal had a strong outing. He threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The win gives the Cotorras a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Serie Preliminar.

Cosme Tejeda, the Rio Grande center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 6-1, Cotorras. For the game, Tejeda was 2 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.

"We're happy," Tejeda told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Parque de los Galanes in Ciales.
