Engines Pull Out Late-Game Win, 1-0
|
Oshawa and London put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Oshawa Engines picked up a win at Slammers Park, downing the London Regulars, 1-0. On the mound for Oshawa was right-hander Joe O'Toole, who played a pivotal role in the win. At 31-34, the Engines are currently 4th in the Eastern Great Lakes Association Canadian Independent Baseball.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Oshawa center fielder Allen Wall, facing Matt Patterson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Engines the 1-0 win.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said O'Toole.
