The Escanaba Wanderers got a stellar effort from pitcher Agustín Acosta, helping Escanaba score a win over the visiting Sheboygan Brats, 3-2. Escanaba raised its record to 38-17 with the win.
Horacio Colón, who is tied for 2nd in the WGLA in runs scored with 26, drove in one run for Escanaba. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Colón came through with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Wanderers in front, 3-2.
Colón said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
