Not everyone stuck through the 27-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

Saginaw starter George Gillpatrick kept the Bad Axe hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 10-1. Gillpatrick, now 7-4, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.

Regardless of the outcome, those who came to Old Growth Forest for the Western Great Lakes Association contest enjoyed being there.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Bad Axe manager Tomás Díaz. "They smoked us."

Saginaw is first in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron with a record of 30-17.
