The Mackinac Island Stone Skippers beat the Saginaw Joes, 7-4, at Old Growth Forest. Mackinac Island third baseman Corey Hall had an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. By defeating Saginaw, the 4th-place Stone Skippers improved to 18-20.

In the top of the second, with Mackinac Island leading 2-1, center fielder Brian Knuth hit a 2-run single. The hit came off George Gillpatrick and put the Stone Skippers ahead, 4-1.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Hall. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
