The Sault St. Marie Rapids and Superior Whalebacks completed their game despite the inclement weather.

The Sault St. Marie Rapids rode a solid performance from 37-year-old starting pitcher Bill Blair to a win, beating the Superior Whalebacks, 4-2, at Edmund Fitzgerald Park. Blair, who is tied for 6th in the WGLA in complete games with 8, went the distance for Sault St. Marie. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits.

Sault St. Marie used a well-timed hit by Sam Weston to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Rapids ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Weston attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The Whalebacks, now 19-17, have lost 5 straight.
