Wanderers Drop 3-2 Decision
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Traverse City Amarelles and Escanaba Wanderers.
The Traverse City Amarelles scooped up a win at Roaring Dan Seavey Stadium, dumping the Escanaba Wanderers, 3-2. Eduardo García, who is tied for 6th in the WGLA in innings pitched with 67.1, was essential to his team's success. García yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 0. His record improves to 4-4.
Traverse City used a well-timed hit by Dante Brownlee to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Amarelles ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Brownlee told the Traverse City Daily News.
With the win, the Amarelles have a record of 15-14.
