Late Rally Earns Mentor 6-5 Win
The Mentor Rose Stockings electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.

Mentor beat Norwalk at The Rosebush, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Greg Balthrop. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mentor reliever Marco Martínez picked up the win to move to 1-0. John Doran suffered the loss.

Jorge Oropesa was the walk-off hero for Mentor. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rose Stockings pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Balthrop said.

Norwalk now has a record of 12-11.
