Citadels Suffer 4-2 Road Loss
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown London Regulars take on the Kingston Citadels.
Carl Lucas left his imprint on the 4-2 London win against the Kingston Citadels. Lucas, who is tied for 6th in the EGLA in triples with 3, went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. London starter Matt Patterson was credited with the win after throwing 127 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 3-2.
Judson Fleury had a big run-scoring triple for the Regulars in the bottom of the third inning. With London leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Al Williams and swatted a triple to right. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Regulars ahead, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said London skipper Solón Muñoz.
The Citadels fall to 7-13 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1905 season.
