Alpena Shut Out by Jacobson
|
The Alpena Partridges manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Bad Axe Stoplights. The Partridges were overpowered by Bad Axe starter Beany Jacobson, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Chad Freeman said.
Over 9 innings, Jacobson blanked Alpena on 5 hits with 1 walk and no strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Jacobson said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
This year, Jacobson has a 2-3 record with a 1.84 ERA in 5 starts.
