Commodores 5-4 Winners Over Mentor
The Erie Commodores and Mentor Rose Stockings obliged fans looking for a good time.

The Erie Commodores did just enough to sneak past the Mentor Rose Stockings, 5-4, at Erie Naval Yards. Erie pitcher Matt Gilley, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, Erie elevates its record to 8-6.

Erie took a 5-4 lead on Rob Mohl's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Mohl hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Mentor pitcher Red Ames visibly frustrated.

Erie manager Bobby Attwood was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
