Hydropathists Raise Rally Flag, Beat Irondequoit, 6-1
|
The Oswego Hydropathists got a good effort from starter James McMullin in defeating the Irondequoit Peach Kings at Fairweather Park. The final score was 6-1. McMullin, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Irondequoit, with the loss, is 3-5.
Ben Walcott produced at a critical juncture for Oswego. It happened in the top of the eighth with Charlie Jaeger on the mound and Oswego leading 2-1. That's when the 22-year old right fielder Walcott hit a sacrifice fly.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," McMullin told the Oswego Daily News.
