The Bay City Sugar Beets, behind a great outing from Jack Fee defeated the Saginaw Joes, 1-0, at Old Growth Forest. The winning pitcher was Fee, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2.

Had Juan Moreno not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Moreno hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Sugar Beets.

"That's baseball," said Saginaw manager Miguel Chagoya. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."

The win lifts Bay City to a record of 3-3.
