Threshers Suffer 9-6 Home Defeat
Rafael Viñas did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Brandon Threshers from being beaten, 9-6, to the Saskatoon Willows at Threshers Park. Viñas was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Tomás Jaimes. He went 9 innings, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 1. Brandon, at 47-63, has lost 5 straight.

The Threshers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Willows going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old left fielder Meany Hogan came to the plate. Hogan hit a 2-run triple on a 1-0 fastball from Brandon hurler Jesús Becerra. It was Hogan's 3rd triple of the year.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Brandon manager Kevin Harrigan.
