Beaumont pitcher José Rodríguez had a large part in his team beating the Nacogdoches Roaches, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Beaumont reliever Michael Allan, who is tied for 3rd in the FBL-EA in saves with 3, was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-2. Joaquín Espinosa took the loss for Nacogdoches. With the win, Beaumont pushed its record to 67-65.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, 23-year old left fielder Nereo Rodríguez won it for Beaumont. With the bases loaded, Rodríguez hit a 0-1 changeup from Joaquín Espinosa for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.

"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Nacogdoches manager Matías Magaña.
