The Wichita Falls Yardmen picked up a win at Yardmen Park, taking down the Abilene Preachers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Álvaro Figueroa was a big reason why. Figueroa, who is tied for 8th in the FBL-WA in quality starts with 22, went the distance for Wichita Falls. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits. Wichita Falls, now 54-76, holds down last place in the Western Association Abilene Circuit.

Wichita Falls got a clutch hit from Adrasto Garibay. The designated hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Garibay told reporters after the game.
