Before the game, Íñigo León said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Yardmen Park, the Yardmen pitcher blanked the Abilene Preachers, 8-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," León said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Wichita Falls starter held Abilene scoreless, giving up 7 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Preachers manager Mauricio García said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
This season, León shows a 14-14 record in 40 games, 260 innings, 102 strikeouts, and a 3.74 ERA.
