The Abilene Preachers topped the Amarillo Horizons, 5-2, in Western Association action at Abilene Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Abilene pitcher Matt Tulk. Tulk got the win, improving to 15-13. He gave up 9 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Abilene bumps their record to 47-63 with the win.

The Preachers got a big at-bat from center fielder Lázaro Morocho. For the game, Morocho went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Abilene a 2-1 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Morocho told a Abilene Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
