Led by 23-year-old Marcos Samano, the Wichita Falls Yardmen downed the Amarillo Horizons, 6-5. Samano went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for Wichita Falls. Aurelio Castellanos got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances. Wichita Falls goes to 46-62, Amarillo to 53-55.

The Yardmen got a lift from center fielder Marcos Martínez, who in the bottom of the sixth stroked a 0-1 fastball to center for a run-scoring single. It was his 77th hit of the season and put the Yardmen ahead, 6-2.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Samano told the Wichita Falls Daily News.
