Yardmen Get 6-2 Win Versus Abilene
|
Wichita Falls pitcher Símaco Montes had a large part in his team subduing the Abilene Preachers, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Montes picked up the win for Wichita Falls, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 9-12. Íñigo León earned save number 4 this season.
In the top of the third, with Wichita Falls leading 1-0, Urso Recio hit a sinker from Oliver Minasian for a run-scoring single, giving the Yardmen the lead, 2-0.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Recio told the Wichita Falls Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
