Highwaymen Get 5th Straight Win with Late Rally
Hurler Jorge Ruiz gave the Tucson Highwaymen a solid start. The native of Mayagüez, Mayagüez-Aguadilla helped his team defeat the Tempe Olympians, 3-2, at Highwaymen Park. The first-place Highwaymen bumped their record to 50-35.

In the bottom of the 8th, pinch hitter Tomás Rivera gave Tucson the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Highwaymen had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Tempe pitcher Epifanio Cuenca changed that -- and Tucson went on to win.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Rivera.
