Big Day for García as Finos Down Cowhands, 9-6
Behind a fine performance from Vicente García, the El Paso Finos knocked off the Odessa Cowhands, 9-6. García went 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Finos. Oscar Carreno, the winner, improved to 5-14. He held the Cowhands to 5 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The Finos improved to 32-51.

El Paso used a timely hit from Félix Torres to get the win. The left fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Finos on top, 7-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said El Paso manager Maurice Barnes.
