The Tucson Highwaymen picked up a win at Highwaymen Park, taking down the Tempe Olympians, 7-5. Starting pitcher Radamés Rodríguez was a big reason why. Rodríguez, now 4-3, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 5 runs. At 40-28, the Highwaymen are currently first in the Western Association Phoenix Circuit.

In the bottom of the second, Tucson shortstop Hefesto López had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, López stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, Tucson. For the game, he went 1 for 5.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Rodríguez, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
