Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Electricos
The Guayanilla Electricos and Vega Baja Caneros rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.

The Guayanilla Electricos topped the Vega Baja Caneros, 4-3, in 13 innings at Parque de los Eléctricos. The game was highlighted by the performance of Guayanilla pitcher Juan Rivera. The win was credited to 18-year old right-handed pitcher José Adame in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Polideuco Torres took the loss.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 13th, Graciano Gabín wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Vega Baja pitcher Polideuco Torres had other ideas. He wanted to end the Guayanilla rally. What happened next? With one out, Gabín hit a run-scoring single -- and the Electricos erupted in celebration.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Ernesto Méndez, the Guayanilla manager.

Guayanilla now sports a record of 20-18.
