Galveston Gulls starter Marcos Castillo turned in an exceptional performance against the Nacogdoches Roaches at Roaches Park, resulting in a Galveston win, 3-1. The Gulls sport a record of 25-38.

Manuel Cuevas had a direct impact on the outcome. Cuevas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Galveston up, 2-1.

Afterward, Gulls manager Everardo Aranda was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
