Wichita Falls used a superb performance from starting pitcher Íñigo León to down the Phoenix Gila Monsters, 2-1. León, the winner, moves to 11-12. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. With this game in the books, Wichita Falls is 47-44, Phoenix 36-55.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Wichita Falls. That's when 28-year old left fielder Diosdado Fernández hit a run-scoring double off Mickey Roper to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
