Nacogdoches got a terrific game from catcher Leucipo Mata. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Tyler, 5-3. Mata was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Tyler bumps their record to 17-23 with the win.

Had Francisco Burciaga not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Burciaga hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Pecan Kings.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Burciaga told the Tyler Times.
