Figueroa Fashions Shutout Against Horizons
The Amarillo Horizons manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Wichita Falls Yardmen. The Horizons were overpowered by Wichita Falls starter Álvaro Figueroa, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Fred Corey said.

Over 9 innings, Figueroa blanked Amarillo on 5 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Figueroa said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

His record this season is 4-2 in 7 starts and Figueroa has a 2.02 ERA.
