After a 5-hit effort to lead Orocovis's 11-5 victory over the Naranjito Predilectos, center fielder Ramón Payán told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Liga Veraniega de Principiantes-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Parquecito de Orocovis with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Predilectos.

"His swing is getting there," said Behiques skipper Oliver Trujillo, who spoke glowingly of Payán after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ramón did that to perfection."

Ramón Payán hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Amentario Salazar in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Payán is batting .393 this year with 6 home runs, 23 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 22 hits in 56 at-bats.
