The Loiza Pleneros locked up a win at Parquecito de Loíza, knocking off the Rio Grande Zarzas, 5-4. On the mound for Loiza was right-hander Diego Arredondo. He played a major role in the triumph. Arredondo went the distance for Loiza. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. The win gives Loiza a record of 2-8.

The decisive blow was delivered by Daniel Martín in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Rupert Clark to win the game for Loiza. The home crowd went nuts.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Martín told the Loiza Herald.
