Werewolves Handle Taos, Snag 5-2 Win
The Los Lunas Werewolves picked up a win at Taos Grounds, defeating the Taos Artists, 5-2. Starting pitcher Rafael Montez was an essential part of his team's success. Montez got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 9 hits and walked 2 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Rafael Morales earned the save for Los Lunas, his 1st.

The Werewolves got a big at-bat from second baseman Valentín López, who in the top of the third hit a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Werewolves on top, 4-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Los Lunas manager Jesús Contreras. "It's usually not just one thing."
