Dark Blues Upend Giants, 3-1
|
Hartford and New York played a hard-fought contest.
In a low-scoring clash between Hartford and New York, pitcher Toad Ramsey was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. The Dark Blues improve their record to 49-44 with the win over New York.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Dark Blues had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when first baseman Ray Larsen hit a 2-run single. The single came off Steve Moore and made the score 2-0, Dark Blues. Larsen was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Dark Blues manager Ed Caskin, "I like our chances."
