Arrecostaos Pull Out Late Win, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring contest, Trujillo Alto pitcher Helio Hernández was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Trujillo Alto pitcher Álvar González got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Braulio Paredes got the loss. The win moves Trujillo Alto to a record of 6-3.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Trujillo Alto pinch hitter Gelasio Maldonado, facing Braulio Paredes, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Arrecostaos the 2-1 win.
"Watch and learn," said Maldonado. "This is what good pitching looks like."
