Guayama Aprendices starter Ademar Saldaña turned in a sparkling performance against the Patillas Panaderos, leading his team to a 2-1 win. In 9 innings, Saldaña surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Patillas is now 5-2.

Leonardo Erives had a big run-scoring double for the Aprendices in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Guayama leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Alarcón and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aprendices ahead, 2-0.
