Fajardo Rallies for 4-2 Victory
|
The Fajardo Insolentes topped the Naranjito Brillantes, 4-2, in Liga Hostos action at Parque de los Brillantes. The standout performance belonged to Fajardo pitcher and Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, native Ángel Torres. Torres, who is tied for 10th in the LH in quality starts with 7, went the distance for Fajardo. He gave up 2 runs on 11 hits. The Insolentes, now 23-9, have been on fire in the early going.
One of the clutch hits for Fajardo came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the eighth with two out, Hernán Chagoya hit a 2-run single to put the Insolentes up, 4-2. For the game, the third baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"Bottom line," said Naranjito skipper Luis Martínez, "we didn't play well enough to win."
