Two good teams met in a late-season showdown.

Ponce had no answer for Toa Baja Jinetes hurler Alberto Benítez, who overwhelmed Senores hitters as the Jinetes coasted to victory, 9-1. At 116-47, the Jinetes are currently first in the Liga Hostos Metro Oeste.

The famously hardworking Benítez handled the Senores all day, notching 6 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 5 hits. Benítez goes to 24-10 on the year with 123 strikeouts.
