The Las Marias Citricos defeated the Vega Alta Martilleros, 5-4, in Liga Betances action at El Naranjal. Las Marias pitcher Eduino Rizo had a standout performance. The win elevated the Citricos to 58-56.

It could have been a different outcome for Las Marias, had it not been for Jesús Rosales, the 35-year old first baseman . Rosales contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Las Marias up, 5-4.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Vega Alta manager Jeremías Rodríguez said, following the tough loss.
