Sanisalvos Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Rio Grande Cotorras got a superb performance from pitcher Carmelo Castillo, but the Morovis Sanisalvos still won the game, 4-3. Castillo threw 9.0 innings allowing 4 runs. Danilo Acosta earned the win to go to 2-3. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in 9 innings of work. Rio Grande drops to 17-13.
In the top of the ninth, Morovis designated hitter Hernán Guzmán stroked a run-scoring single to left-center field. The clutch hit put the Sanisalvos in front, 4-3.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Prisco Aguilera.
