The skies opened up and the rain fell at Parque de los Arribeños.
Utuado Arribenos starter Jay Thomson hurled his team past the Bayamon Lecheros, 2-1. Miguel García picked up the save, his 21st.
With runs few and far between, the Arribenos had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Utuado came in the bottom of the third inning, when fan favorite Quirino Ochoa delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Casto Sánchez and made the score 2-1, Arribenos. Ochoa went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"What we get, we earn," Thomson told the Utuado Bulletin.
Utuado currently is in first place in the Liga Hostos Cordillera Oeste at 91-69.
