Quebradillas Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Quebradillas Corsarios did just enough to sneak past the Guayama Hechiceros, 4-3, at Campo de los Corsarios. Quebradillas pitcher Pablo Silva, in particular, had a standout performance. Quebradillas reliever Pablo Silva got the win, raising his record to 9-1. Columbano Alvarado was tagged with the loss. The third-place Corsarios are now 74-85, the Hechiceros 60-100.
The decisive blow was delivered by Fermín Bolaños in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Columbano Alvarado to win the game for Quebradillas. The home crowd went nuts.
Silva told a Quebradillas Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
